Who I am as a designer stems from a highly influential, fast-paced, and pivotal time at university. The world has seen a rapidly growing consciousness towards sustainable living methods, government corruption and societal bigotry, and how individuals play a part in such systems. My position as a designer lies in the hope that this is not the best we can design. There are some incredible and inspiring projects springing out of the disregard for generational injustices committed through exploitative and polluting systems that have been accepted for so long.

An education focussed on circular economy and innovative solutions which can be both socially and environmentally beneficial is something I feel compelled to take into professional practice. It is equally important to create joyful and culturally significant spaces which are creative and take risks. I have found this is best explored through drawing and model-making before creating compelling, emotive scenes of proposals. My work is heavily researched based – a thorough understanding of the subject in question is an essential part of my process. Multidisciplinary experience aids me in a broader contextual thinking. I am capable of adapting to circumstances and new working environments like the ones the pandemic presented, while successfully leading group projects.

I have a particular interest in philosophies around how the built environment shapes social structures and behaviour. I have a curiosity and an eagerness for knowledge and experience in multiple cultural, community and social structures. This insight can be gained in the UK, or globally, whether volunteering, working temporarily or longer term.
